Pelican Bay at Lucaya Launches New Program to Honor Team Members for Exceptional Guest Service
GRAND BAHAMA ISLAND, The Bahamas (Jan. 26, 2007) – Pelican Bay at Lucaya’s staff has earned the reputation as a leader on Grand Bahama Island for providing guest service to vacationers. Now, the resort is changing the way guests share their praise of the Pelican Bay team by introducing the PIN Program, which gives staff members an opportunity to earn bonuses. The newly launched PIN Program is designed to let guests share their compliments directly with those delivering the service. When guests check-in they are issued a small lapel pin. Guests are encouraged to give the pin to a Pelican Bay team member who delivers service above and beyond expectations. Guests can hand out as many pins as desired. Team members who receive the pins can wear them on their uniforms to showcase their commitment to delivering great service. Furthermore, once a staff member has reached a certain level of pins, they qualify for a $100 bonus. Currently, Pelican Bay’s Cindy Burrows, Sabrina Williams, and Stanley Williams have earned the most pins. “Many times our guests will send comment cards or emails after a stay to tell us about the great service they received from a staff member,” explains Magnus Alnebeck, Pelican Bay’s general manager. “With the PIN Program the guest can tell our team members thank you right there on the spot.” Pelican Bay at Lucaya features 93 one-bedroom suites and an 89-room inn. Both the suites and the hotel hold the prestigious “Small Treasure” designation awarded by The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism. Pelican Bay is the only investment that Sundt AS has in the Bahamas.
