Lucayan Medical Centre launches new website
FREEPORT – With the primary focus on better servicing their customers and advising patients of the many services offered, the Lucayan Medical Centre recently launched their new website. Administrator for the Centre, Ms. Kaijanna Lockhart emphasized, “We embarked on the development of the site, www.lucayanmedical.com, for a few reasons: (1) to increase or expand our customer base; (2) to let persons know about us both locally and internationally: and (3) to inform patients about the many products and services we have to offer.” The site has information of the history of the Lucayan Medical Centre, its staff and medical doctors and also about the services offered. Ms. Lockhart also revealed that that on the Website a patient can also schedule an appointment with the online appointment scheduling. “A representative from the clinic will then contact the patient about the availability and time and confirm the appointment. Also, we encourage persons to contact us through the inquiry in the contact information section. “As we prepare to expand this facility, we ask everyone to visit the site regularly for updates. We here at Lucayan Medical Centre are all excited about this new venture and hope that persons take advantage of the new services we have made available,” Ms. Lockhart stated. The Administrator noted that the Lucayan Medical Centre West, destroyed by fire in late 2005, will be known as The Lucayan Medical Diagnostic and Rehabilitative Centre is been designed to be an extension of Lucayan Medical Centre East. It will incorporate a comprehensive and state-of-the-art X-ray facility, Laboratory services, MRI scan, Computerized Tomography (CAT Scan), Bone Densitometry, Audiology, Speech Therapy, and Pharmacy services. Administrator for the Centre, Ms. Kaijanna Lockhart said “The physicians and staff of Lucayan Medical Centre are committed to serving our patients with the highest ethical and professional standards and through community involvement to enhance and promote the health and welfare of all residents of The Bahamas.” The Lucayan Medical Centre West was built in 1968 through the efforts of Dr. Robert Forsyth. In 1978 the administration of the Centre was assumed by Dr. Marcus Bethel, and over the ensuing years the growth of the Centre was characterized by the upgrading of the physical premises, medical equipment and personnel. In July 1994 another historic milestone in the development of the Lucayan Medical Centre took place as Lucayan Medical Centre East was officially opened. When fire destroyed the Lucayan Medical Centre West in 2005, patients were quite pleased to know that there was a sister complex that could cater to their health needs.
