Meet a litter of ten boys

Meet a litter of ten boys (yes all boys!)released to the Humane Society during the recent spay/neuter clinic in Eight Mile Rock.  These adorable little guys all came from one mama dog in West End.  They are only ten of 35 released to us during the week long clinic, and to say we're raining dogs would not be an exaggeration!

The Humane Society is overwhelmed with the success of the first Eight Mile Rock spay/neuter clinic and plans are already underway for the next one; tentatively scheduled for late May or early June.   We appreciate greatly the community''s response and help, and hope for even more the next time around.  We have completed the first step in solving this island's pet over-population problem, but we still have a long way to go!  Monetary donations specified for the s/n clinic project are most welcome, and will be used specifically for that project.  Volunteers are still needed, along with vehicles, housing, meals, etc.  Keep it in mind and call us now if you think you can help in a few months.

Meantime, remember if you are thinking of adding to your four-legged family, don't forget the many wonderful dogs, puppies, cats and kittens at the Humane Society, all just waiting on their forever homes!

The Humane Society of Grand Bahama and The Kohn Foundation wish to thank the following local individuals and companies for their support during the first B.A.R.C.-A.N.E.W. Field Spay/Neuter Clinic held Jan. 15 – 19 in Eight Mile Rock.  Your contributions of housing, vehicles, meals, beverages, supplies and time were much appreciated and ensured the success of this inaugural clinic!

A big thank you is owed to Father Cooper and the parishioners of St. Stephen’s Anglican Church in Eight Mile Rock for appreciating this project and generously giving up their parish hall for a week.
